Charged EVs | Daimler Buses and BMZ Poland collaborate on development of e-bus batteries

Daimler Buses has partnered with lithium-ion and sodium-ion battery producer BMZ Poland for the event and provide of next-generation NMC4 batteries particularly for e-buses.

The collaboration combines Daimler’s experience in bus improvement and manufacturing and BMZ’s know-how in heavy-duty lithium-ion battery options. The purpose is to develop batteries with greater power density for longer vary and longer cycle life. Daimler Buses expects to see advantages from NMC4 improvement by mid-decade.

“We are going to prolong our manufacturing in Gliwice, making this facility the primary of its variety within the EU constructed for the aim of bus battery manufacturing together with a completely computerized assembling line,” stated Paweł Kępski, Head of Enterprise Unit EV, BMZ Poland.
