US EV producer Rivian has obtained an $827-million incentive bundle from the Illinois Division of Commerce & Financial Alternative to develop the capability of its plant within the state.
The funding will allow Rivian to improve the ability over the approaching months to fabricate the R2, its midsized SUV mannequin. On the similar time, the plant will proceed to provide its R1S, R1T, and industrial electrical supply autos.
Since manufacturing started in 2021, the ability has manufactured over 100,000 EVs, the corporate mentioned.
